Cognac is quite fussy with his head and mouth, being a thoroughbred he is very thin-skinned and sensitive. For this reason I am very particular about the tack and equipment I use on him. I aim to keep him as happy and comfortable as possible so that he can concentrate on his job.

Maps- I am using the OS Landranger maps with a 1:50 000 scale, these are the biggest scale I can use while still having bridleways marked on them. To map my whole route, I need to use over 40 of these maps, which would be impracticable to carry with me. Therefore I am going to bundle them up into sections and get them sent to me as I need them. I will then send them back home as I finish with them.
